Kearny sigue de cerca la investigación. Lo curioso de todo esto es que Bart Helsip. el protagonista. duerme durante todo el libro. Como el argumento consiste en narrar la investigación que se lleva a cabo sobre sus pasos previos al golpe que le hizo perder la conciencia. bien podemos afirmar que se trata quizás de una de las pocas novelas policiales donde el protagonista está sin estar. está en coma. quizás se muera y no obstante. cada vez sus posibles e improbables pasos cobran mayor importancia.
