First edition hard back binding in publisher's original green cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, large gilt vignette of green woodpecker to the front cover. Folio 14'' x 10''. An attractive collection of 50 watercolours, commissioned by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the late Queen Mother, on the birds and flowers of the Royal estates at the Castle of Mey and Balmoral. The book is divided into two sections, each dealing with the respective estate, and combines two books original published respectively in 1993 and 1997.
