Aqua coloured end pages. Blue coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the front panel. Photographic dustwrapper with red coloured titles to the front panel and blue coloured titles to the back strip. A look at the Jewish population in the Chinese city of Shanghai. Starting from the middle of the 19th century and reaching its height in the 1930s, where the Jewish community was over 30,000 people, from all over Europe and all forms of Judaism. Rubbing of the back strip edges and to the book corners. The front panel has some dust marks to it and some stains also present. A small split, 0.25 " to the top corner of the front hinge. The pages appear and feel "bubbled", as if the book has been in contact with moisture  but probably more likely as part of the book's production. A little creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with rubbing of the lower edge. The yellow coloured background on the front panel and back strip has faded to a very pale yellow.
