Cream coloured textured boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic paperback binding with black and pink coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Based on the author's recollections of her life in the Northern Territory in the early part of the 20th century, and, of a small Aboriginal girl named Bett-Bett who " . appears, stays a while, learns a little, laughs much, wonders much, and finally goes bush again."  from the front fold over panel blurb. Not a politically correct publication, nonetheless an important work. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. The back strip edges are a little discoloured  commensurate with loss of dustwrapper. Browning and some marks to the book panels. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages with foxing to the text edges. Offset tanning and foxing of the end pages; with, some foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Previous owners name to the top edge of the free front end page. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Creasing and tears to the dustwrapper edges and the front fold over crease has split for 6 1/2 inches. Sunning and foxing of the dustwrapper with foxing to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
