Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket, as Published. Limited Edition. Clean, tight, square and bright two volume cased set bound in rust cloth with gilt titles on spine with gilt top edge and matching slipcases. Bookplate of Meriden Gravure printer John Peckham on pastedown of Volume I. Spines are slightly faded on both volumes, otherwise unmarked and fine. Slipcases are lightly worn at corners and have faint surface smudges. Volume 1 (of 500 copies) is unnumbered and explores the Primitives. Volume II (of 1000 copies) deals with Harunobu, Koryusai, Shigemasa, and their followers and contemporaries. Each volume has eight color plates and many B&W plates and is individually indexed with glossary. Volume I 284 pages, and Volume II 307 pages. The postal charges quoted are for an average-sized book. First volume number 376 from a limited pinting of 500 copies, second volume from a limited printing of 1000 copies. Top edges gilt. Some shelf wear and scuffing to slipcases, moderate shelf wear to boards. Altogether a complete set in Very Good condition.
