Book First Edition
Hardback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. No stated date but believed to be 1932 and presumed first edition. [vii], 244pp. John Henry Harvey, ex-legionnaire 1384, was an Englishman in the French Foreign Legion who, along with Bennett Doty (an American) and two Germans, deserted the Legion in Syria in 1926. This is his account of his experiences in Morocco , Syria and Lebanon. The book is bound in the original orange-red cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. The spine ends are bumped and the spine is faded. There is some patchy damp fading on the fore edge of the rear board and around the corners of the front board. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.
