This book along with a few others in auction at the moment came from the library of the late Lalage Bown and has 'Lalage Bown' inked to endpaper. Lalage Jean Bown (1927~2021), OBE FRSE FAcSS, was an English educator, feminist and women's literacy advocate. A special issue of Adult Education in Nigeria in 1997 hailed her as "the mother of Adult Education in Africa".
