Numbered 868 of 990 limited edition, this book is bound in reddish brown cloth, spine has faded, titles and decorations in gilt, teg. Lower front corner is bumped and there is some shelf wear, but copy is tight and unmarked with edges uncut, pages and end papers show age discoloration. Frontispiece is color illustration by Lionel Edwards. 29 other full page illustrations in black and white throughout volume. Edwards and Cecil Alden are two of the finest and most renowned hunting/ horse illustrators of this period. Higginson, an American foxhunting man, has compiled an anthology of well known and little known pieces on his sport.

Engraved frontispiece and small vignette on the title page. A large and very heavy book at 1038 pp. Very good- condition in dark red cloth with gilt illustration on front cover, gilt lettering on the spine (front hinge cracked, rear hinge partially cracked, some bumping to corners). An uncommon book, and one which would be valuable for genealogical purposes and to social historians.
