Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This detailed volume is the compilation of three speeches and a letter written by friends and colleagues of the late Reverend Daniel Little Furber, pastor emeritus of the First Church in Newton, following his death in 1899. Furber, having served the church for fifty years, remained active in the community. The excerpt contains the full text of these speeches, and excerpts from the letter. Excerpts from a sermon preached at the church following Furber's death are also included. Furber's friends and colleagues recount his personal qualities, extolling his sincerity and integrity while describing his ministry to the community. They also touch on the man's guilelessness and his deep, abiding faith. The book provides a fascinating glimpse into a remarkable life, and examines the depth of the esteem in which the man was held by the people around him.
