Soft cover. Condition: New. No Jacket. Henry Sherwood was born on 1st January 1777. His father, having been disinherited, decided that it would be cheaper to live abroad. Thus, in 1790, the family moved to France. Henry's memoir records his neglect by his father and step-mother, his separation from them and the hardships of imprisonment during the French Revolution. Then having been reunited with them by chance, he succeeded in getting them all back to England in spite of his father's deteriorating mental state. This is the story of the courage and resourcefulness of a youth, without whom the Sherwood family would doubtless have perished.
