A delightful survey of the nineteenth century circus, carnival and its culture, with evocative color illustrations on most pages. 4to. 250 pp. Light foxing to some leaves at beginning and end, and the most occasionally in between. A small ink blotch on one leaf, and a few finger smudges besides. One small margin remnant of a newspaper pastedown that roughly matches image below. Much later photo of aerialists pasted onto blank leaf. Leather has a few raw spots, and edgewear to binding. Notwithstanding these cavils, a handsome copy. Half Morocco, over Marbled Boards.
