Product Description:The medusa is most commonly met as a lone figure in a dungeon, with the body of a beautiful woman and her head covered by a veil. 'What in the world could that be?' ask the party jokingly, as they pull out their polished mirrors or avert their gazes, having seen through her 'disguise' at once. With this book the jokes won't last long. Medusas are no longer a simple encounter in the dungeon; from their coveys, to desires and goals, The Slayer's Guide to Medusas peels away the legends and tall tales of this dread creature, to reveal the depths of the deceit and cruelty.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description:The Fir Domain is one of the fiercest and most troublesome Tribes of the Earth Goddess. Whereas the Sessair and Finians will go to war as soon as look at you, the Fir Domain are just as eager for trouble but always with an eye to the main chance. Likewise, they can be as cunning as the Tribe of the Shadows, but are quite prepared to apply that intelligence and planning to a frontal assault or even an entire war, rather than relying on night raids. If they cannot profit from war, and with minimal casualties, they have no great interest in it. Of course, this could be long-term profit - taking over fertile farmland can be better in the long run than capturing a rich town or fort. The Fir Domain is also known as the Tribe of the Growling Shields for their fearsome battle feat of shield-growling, when they use specially shaped metal shields to amplify their war-cries. This feat reveals a great deal about the tribe in general for they are geared towards defense, and their warriors make great use of shields. Yet they use the shields for offence too - the shield growl instills terror into the hearts of any who face them in battle, and many wield razor-edged shields which can be hurled at foes or used to slash and slice. This combination of attack and defense, or perhaps more properly attack from a position of protection and strength, runs through many of the tribe's activities in both peace and war-time. Even their traders are cautious, yet quick to take advantage of any opening. However, their focus on defense should not be taken as an indication that the Fir Domain is cowards. A Fir Domain warrior sees his shield as his most crucial piece of equipment, but it is closely followed in importance by his sword or spear. Once the Tribe of the Growling Shields has decided they will fight, they advance in an implacable, well-drilled mass, almost as well organized as the skull-swords. This is in sharp contrast to the typical Celtic charge used by most of the other Earth Goddess tribes, but it works. The Fir Domain themselves consider that charging into battle is a sign of weakness and fear, not strength - so far as they are concerned, their more considered approach, even under a hail of javelins and sling-stones, demonstrates true courage.

Product Description:Giants are often first encountered singly or in small family groups, either menacing a local community or preying on travelers through mountainous country. At higher levels they may be found in larger tribes, often working with by lesser creatures such as ettins, trolls and even lowly orcs, along with the occasional powerful enemy such as a dragon. With almost as much versatility as the typical humanoid creature, most giant races are capable of advancing in character classes, and whether simple barbarians to capitalize on their obvious strengths or more dangerous classes such as the much-feared giant sorcerers, adepts, and clerics, these advanced giants can provide a serious boost to the challenge set by any giant encounter. This present volume comprises knowledge drawn from scholarly studies alongside tactics and survival tips offered by adventurers who have tangled with giants and lived to tell the tale. Games Masters will learn many intricate details about giant life and culture, enabling them to make truly memorable encounters with this race for their players, while the players themselves may learn a fact or two that might just save the lives of their characters. You will find detailed information on giant physiology, habitat, and society, giving you a fundamental level of understanding on how this race exists and interacts with the rest of the world. Players can learn the types of combat tactics giants are likely to employ against their characters and Games Masters are given guidelines on how to introduce giants into their existing campaigns, and will also benefit from material demonstrating how to portray these creatures to the players. Several new giant races can change the expectations of any encounter, as do the new giant feats that alter the standard giant into something even more terrifying. Scenario hooks and more information on giantsâ bags round out the portrayal of this dangerous foe. Finally, a complete adventure, The Fire Giantâ s Bride, is presented to offer more of an insight into giant culture and lairs.

By manipulating these elements, Elementalists create some of the most spectacular effects of magic, raising walls of stone around themselves or raining fiery death upon their enemies. Unlike practitioners of common magic who barely touch the power of the elements and Priests whose powers come from the Gods, sorcerers master the raw elemental forces without permission and, most of the time, even without acknowledgement.By enhancing a sword with Fireblade or using Breathe Water, all magic users are elementalists in a way. Their knowledge, however, is limited to the strictly defined spells they learn from their communities, churches and sorcerous orders. Beyond that basic knowledge, there are those who dare a greater understanding of the elements and walk the Four Elemental Ways gaining power over the building blocks of the universe.Elementalism is the latest volume of the Arcania of Legend series, presenting a new way of looking at elementalism. Designed to slot seamlessly into any fantasy-based Legend game, these sourcebooks enhance and expand the use of magic, adding a new dimension to campaigns. Each Arcania of Legend book is not intended just for Games Masters to use in conjunction with their non-player characters, players themselves will find full details on how to use the magic systems with new or existing characters, greatly increasing the wealth of options the core rulebooks present them with.

This in turn has gifted them a firm place in many a campaign world. Some authorities believe all matter to be made from the four elements, with even humans and other sentient creatures being possessed of an elemental nature. Fighting an elemental is like fighting a whirlwind, a ranging inferno, a mountain or the sea itself. You can try and, if you are powerful enough, possibly even succeed, but there is a certain implacable quality to the elements. All can seem unstoppable forces and the earth elemental might also be regarded as an immovable object. Anyone who battles with such powers must fear being overcome, unless they can employ similarly strong forces themselves. The Slayer's Guide to Elementals compiles knowledge drawn from scholarly works alongside tactics and survival tips offered by adventurers who have fought with elementals and lived to tell the tale. Games Masters will learn many intricate details about elemental life and culture, enabling them to make truly memorable encounters with these creatures for their players, while players themselves may learn a thing or two that might just save the lives of their characters.

Product Description:The brave outlaw, clad in forest-green leathers, carrying on a guerrilla rebellion against an unjust King the only way he knows how, robbing tax collectors and giving the proceeds to downtrodden peasants. The dedicated tracker and hunter, able to follow the faintest, oldest trail with ease, and bring down the most fearsome game. The fierce raider, riding down from the hills to carry off what plunder he can, fading into the night once again. The trail-hardened explorer, wandering far from civilization, filling in areas of maps which previously said simply, â Here Be Dragons.â All these are examples of the ranger, one of the most versatile classes within the game. The Quintessential Ranger is a sourcebook that will greatly expand this class, turning the ranger from a simple forester and tracker to a fully fleshed out character with as much interest and innovation as the most wily wizard, mighty-thewed fighter, cunning rogue or avenging cleric. The ranger is potentially one of the most powerful character classes in the game. He is a good, solid combatant, but with a far greater array of off-the-battlefield class features than the fighter, barbarian or paladin, and more skills to boot. He may not have the feats of a fighter or rage of the barbarian, but on his own ground, in his element, there is no-one to match him. He is full of surprises, too, throwing in a spell here, using his preferred combat style to deadly effect there, then demonstrating some other unexpected quality before finally just plain enduring through whatever obstacles are placed before him, as grimly resolute as the day he set out on his quest. With the aid of this sourcebook, any character adopting the ranger class will find his options and capabilities greatly expanded into new realms he once only dreamed of. Through the use of character concepts, rangers may now be given a complete background and history of how they actually came to be a ranger in the first place. Prestige classes are presented for rangers to aspire to â not many will have the dedication and perseverance to qualify as an Animal Champion or Green Knight. New feats will dazzle other party members as the ranger routinely soldiers on through incredibly dangerous conditions, performing forced marches through days and nights at a time while following a trail anyone else would assume to be dead. New weapons, armor and equipment provide the ranger with his required tools of the trade, allowing him to fight, survive, hunt and forage more efficiently than ever before. Every ranger will likely make use of a large number of such tools, picking and choosing the most appropriate pieces of gear to take with him on each adventure. As he gradually becomes more experienced, the ranger may lead great expedition to the ends of the earth, tracking down the most fearsome and monstrous beasts in the land. He may deal a devastating blow to his favored enemies, at the head of a guerrilla army of the forest, composed of animals, centaurs, fey, and elves. At home anywhere in the great outdoors, he may have half a dozen semi-permanent encampments hidden throughout his preferred area, and a dozen more equipment caches and sniping positions besides. Sooner or later his fame will spread throughout the greenwood and beyond, and he can be assured of hospitality and even alliance wherever he goes in the wilderness.

Product Description:Tir Nan Og is the legendary Celtic Land of the Young, a world rather like a legendary version of Northern Europe in a time before much of that continent sank beneath the waves. The four Tribes of the Earth Goddess, on whom the Sláine stories concentrate, are threatened on all sides, with the constant risk of the Fomorians sweeping down from the icy north, the Drune Lords encroaching from the south and the ravages of the berserkers of Midgard in the east. Tir Nan Og is a land full of heroes, and full of great quests for those heroes to do. This supplement aims to provide all you need to know to wander the Land of the Young for decades, whether as a mercenary or cattle-rustler, thief or adventurer, tribal emissary or war-band leader. All the major regions of Tir Nan Og are covered, particularly places of interest and general geography.
