Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -One of the most basic problems of the present century in the Third World Countries is rural poverty. The rural labour households form the hard core of rural poor and the most of the socially backward classes, such as, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes fall in this category. Most of the population is depending upon agriculture that is contributing about one-fourth of the National Income in the country. The most important feature of them are that they have very little or low productive assets and the major part of their income is derived from casual or irregular employment available in villages in Andhra pradesh. The dimensions of poverty among the rural labour households are reflected by the extent of indebtedness among the households and low consumption levels. The basis of findings of the study, it would be useful to make some suggestions that would help to improve the socio-economic conditions of agricultural labourers. The improvement in the socio-economic conditions of the agricultural labour, the large segment of work force would promote economic welfare in general and ultimate lead the Indian economy on the path of growth with stability. 100 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Mass poverty and widespread unemployment are the two most pervasive phenomena and also the commonalities or the third world countries. In fact, poverty coupled with widespread illiteracy and ignorance are the causative factors inhibiting the economic growth and development of these countries. In India rural poverty is more acute and of alarming proportions than the urban poverty. Rural poor are a deprived lot not only in the physical and material spheres but also in social, political and cultural terms. The unique quality and exploitation from which the majority of rural population suffers is demoralizing, engenders resentment and stifles initiative and creativity. A large majority of the rural poor belongs to the category of small farmers, marginal farmers, agricultural laborers and rural artisans. 104 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -In India, handloom industry is an ancient cottage industry spread all over the country. This is a source of livelihood for the millions directly or indirectly. Its role is quite significant in meeting the clothing requirements of the masses. It occupies a pivotal place with its wide ramifications into the socio-economic fabric of society. The hand-woven textiles have a long glorious tradition. They are symbolic of Indian culture forming part of great heritage of art. Centuries ago when Europe, the birth place of today modern capitalism and industry, had little industrial development to boast of India was famous for its grand artistic skills of her craftsmen. The Indian cotton fabrics enjoyed world wide patronage especially in Eastern and European markets in the world. In history there are evidences to show that the Indians have known the art of weaving for more than five thousand years. India has been a producer of cotton cloth of superior quality and repute from times immemorial and generally regarded as the birth place of cotton manufacturers. 104 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -In India, different strategies based on different models have been used for achieving rapid progress in agriculture. The study emerges the conclusion that inter-regional/ mandal and intro-regional income inequalities may be attributed to variation in irrigation, land concentration and imperfect factor markets. Unless these problems are effectively tackled, the benefits of new technology cannot percolate into small farms and backward regions. The disparities in irrigation can be overcome through the Governments' initiative in extending irrigation facilities to backward regions and creating community irrigation. With regard to the unequal distribution of land the solution lies in the effective implementation of land reform measures. Imperfections in credit and input markets can be removed by reorienting the institutional set-up and planning appropriate price policies. Only then, the twin objectives of growth and social justice can be attained in the farm sector in India. 128 pp. Englisch.
