Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Malcolm Fairley, Oliver Impey, Claire Pollard, (illustrator). Folio, 248pp. Embossed red cloth boards within an illustrated slipcase. Luxuriously illustrated throughout with both colour and b/w plates. Condition would be "as new" were it not for four small, inconspicuous stamps from the "SHAQAB College of Design Arts"; one on the front end paper and one on each of the book's three exposed edges. This, the fifth volume, is published in two parts dealing with the development of, respectively, porcelain and earthenware. This, the first part, concentrates on Miyagawa (Makuzu) Kozan (1842-1916), illustrating more than 80 examples of his virtuoso work in porcelain. Split text in Japanese and English. As comprehensive text as you'll find on Japanese ceramics, in English, anywhere.
