The slipcase has paste on spine titles, from with titles and emblem, and the rear with a reproduction. No Flaws or Blemishes but moderate shelf handling of the slipcase; and an attractive previous owner's bookplate. The Book of Hours of Engelbert of Nassau, housed in the Bodleian Library at Oxford as MSS. Douce 219-220, is a splendid example of a book of hours following the Dominican Rite. Crafted in Ghent during the late 1470s or early 1480s for Engelbert II of Nassau, this exquisite manuscript boasts illuminations attributed to the Master of Mary of Burgundy. Celebrated as a pinnacle of Flemish manuscript illumination, it showcases the artistic brilliance of the era, making it a treasured relic of medieval European art.
