Published just weeks before Czechoslovakia was annexed into Hitler's Third Reich in 1938. During World War II, Czechoslovakia ceased to exist and was divided into the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia, and the newly declared Slovak Republic. Profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions in photogravure of various units of the Czech army at play, in training and in action. Photographs by Karel Hájek, Jirí Jenicek, Ján Kalvach, Jozef Trávnicek, Jan Smrt, and others. Minor creasing scuffing and staining on wraps. Text in Czech, captions in Czech, English, French, and Russian (in pre-Revolutionary spelling). Overall very good condition. Rare pictorial work looking at the Czech army before the German 'occupation'.
