Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket (as issued). 1st Edition. Near fine hardcover book in fine publisher's cloth-covered clamshell box. The spine of the box includes the publisher's paper spine label containing the title (an extra copy of the label has been laid into the box by the publisher). Published without a dust-jacket. This copy is one of 30 copies of the quarter vellum edition of the 1996 Fleece Press limited edition. The colophon page states: "Two hundred and sixty copies are bound in quarter cloth and marbled paper made by Ann Muir. Thirty copies are bound in quarter natural vellum, and contain a loose print made by Gwen Raverat, 'Jeu de boules, Vence' 1922." The "marbled paper made by Ann Muir" is also used in the quarter vellum copies. The colophon is signed at the bottom in pencil by Simon Lawrence, the publisher, below his printed name. The print by Gwen Raverat is housed in a pocket included by the publisher inside the rear board of the book. There is very slight wear to the paper at the upper tips of the front and rear boards (but there is NO bumping to the tips); hence, the book has been conservatively graded "near fine." PLEASE NOTE: due to the weight and size of the book and clamshell box, additional shipping charges may be required for shipment outside of the United States.
