Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Seymour Chwast (illustrator). 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page (see photo). You can see the covers in the photos. They're very clean. There is little to no wear, just a wrinkle at the top edge of the spine. The cover edges and corners are in excellent shape. The page edges look quite clean. The black and red lettering on the spine is bright. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers are red. They are very clean and free of wear. The pages are in excellent condition. I'm not finding any creasing. I'm not finding any soiling. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And the author's signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It too is in very nice shape. Again, the only wear I'm seeing is little wrinkling at the top edge of the spine. The jacket is clean. The flaps are clean as well. They are free of wear. However the top corner of the front flap is neatly clipped. Somewhat oddly, the price is at the other top corner and unaffected. None of the other corners are clipped. The jacket will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'Here is the warm, poignant story of one Italian immigrant and the American family he raised. And here is what is what it was like to be a member of that family-- the noise, the humor, the frustrations, and, always, the love.'. Inscribed by Author(s).
viii + 184pp. 'The story of an Italian immigrant and the American family he raised'. Cloth boards in dust jacket. Covers little soiled. Dust jacket price clipped and edge worn. Page edges foxed and dusty. 21x15cms.
