Halbleinen, 4° (25x33 cm), 130 S., mit neunzig Tafeln und erklärendem Texte von Gustav Adolph Schimmer, »Der österr. Maler u. Schnitzer Peter Johann Nepomuk Geiger (1805-80) verdiente seinen Unterhalt nach dem frühen Tod des Vaters (1814) zunächst als Kunstschnitzer; vor allem fertigte er Pfeifenköpfe aus Meerschaum an, und studierte dann an der Wiener Akademie der bildenden Künste. Er wurde als Buchillustrator bekannt und schuf u.a. 1841 vielbeachtete Illustrationen zu A. Zieglers "Vaterländische Immortellen aus dem Gebiet der Österreichischen Geschichte". 1844 begann Geigers Lehrtätigkeit; er unterrichtete u.a. Erzherzog Franz Joseph, begleitete Erzherzog Ferdinand Max 1850 auf dessen Orientreise, war 1850-52 Lehrer an der Elementarzeichnungs- und Modellierschule sowie 1853-71 o.Prof. an der Vorbereitungsschule der Akademie der bildenden Künste. Geiger malte zahlreiche Aquarelle und Ölgemälde« Einband Gebrauchsspuren und leicht bestoßen, schiefgelesen, Titelblatt und die ersten zwei Tafeln braunflackig, innen teilweise schwach braunfleckig, Exlibrisstempel auf dem Titelblatt, Buch wiegt 2,2 kg, Versand in Deutschland 4,00 euro, EU_Raum 10,00 euro, Sonstige 18,00 euro.

Am 18. März zeichnete sich Karl in der Schlacht bei Neerwinden, im Krieg gegen die Französische Republik, aus und zog am 25. März 1793 als neuernannter Generalgouverneur der österreichischen Niederlande in das zurückeroberte Brüssel ein.Später fügte er Napoleon in der Schlacht bei Aspern am 21./22. Mai 1809 eine erste Niederlage auf dem Schlachtfeld zu.- Johann Nepomuk Geiger (* 11. Januar 1805 in Wien; ? 29. Oktober 1880 ebenda) österreichischer Maler und Zeichner. 1600 gr.
