Book
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. John Austin Slatten interviewed Johnny Callison and his wife once a month for almost a year, gathering information for this book. He also interviewed Bobby Wine, manager Gene Mauch, Cookie Rojas, Dick Allen, Bobby Del Greco, and Clay Dalrymple. This is the only biography on the MVP of the 1964 All-Star Game. Callison hit 226 lifetime home runs, had 1,757 base hits, scored 926 runs and had 840 RBIs in his 15 year major league career. Callison was a rookie with the Chicago White Sox in 1958, and also played for the Phillies, Cubs, and Yankees. The book has 168 pages and is in very good plus condition. This is a Trade Paper Edition, NOT the hardback of the original printing. This has always been one of the most difficult baseball biographies to find. I have more than 200 baseball biographies in stock. Discounts are available when you purchase multiple items on the same order.
