Sometimes referred to as the "Billy Graham of India", Eli Stanley Jones was an American methodist missionary, preacher, and theologian. Chiefly remembered for his interreligious lectures to the educated classes in India, he held thousands of such lectures throughout the Indian subcontinent during the early part of the 20th century. His friendship for the cause of Indian self-determination allowed him to become a friend of prominent Indian leaders of the Indian National Congress party, and spent much time with Gandhi, and the Nehru family.

Addressed to John Leiser. Very good. A couple of minor paper clip rust marks, else fine. Comments on the Ashram Movement and a budding mystic movement in New York begun by Dr. J. Holme Smith. ".the Ashram Movement in America is in such an embryonic state that it is difficult to see which one is going to be worth while.".
