Paperback. 19.5 × 13.5cm, 112pp. Notes from the Gallows is a collection of notes written by the anti-Nazi, communist journalist, Julius Fuchík, originally on pieces of cigarette paper, while imprisoned by the Gestapo in the Pankrac district of Prague in 1942. He was executed in Berlin in September 1943. Condition: A reading copy. The covers are darkened to the edges, the pages a little dog-earred towards the end of the book and with some tanning to the pages but nevertheless remaining in good readable condition.
