The dust jacket is bright, not price clipped with very light wear on the edges. There is edge tone and the title page gutter is browned. One of the few sport stories written in the period with a female protagonist and even more unusual is the inclusion of African American and Chinese athletes; perhaps the first such non-stereotypical portrayal in sports novels for girls.
