Translated by Alan Blair with a preface by Lucien Maury and a letter by André Gide. Copy is in very good condition. Absolutely minimal wear to the green cloth boards. Interior is clean and unmarked save for former owner's signature on front free end paper. Dust jacket is good with some fading as well as a couple of chips to the top edge. Now wrapped in protective plastic cover.

First printing, hardcover, has mild bumps to the spine ends, light rubbing with some faint smudging to the covers, sun toning across the head and to the tail of the spine, and a few faint spots and smudges to the edges of the text block. Otherwise, this is a solid, tight, Very Good copy in an unclipped, Near Very Good dust jacket, which has shallow chips to the tail of the spine and to the head of the front, light bumps with mild creasing and short tears to the spine ends and corners, sunning to the spine and head, and some rubbing with minor edge wear to the covers. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
