A deluxe and colorful production, with illustrations mimicking Lamb's pseudo-historical account of the ancient Chinese invention of the titular culinary technique, developed and refined "I forget in whose dynasty." 8'' x 6''. Original decorative yellow, orange and gilt paper boards, in matching slipcase. Edition of 950 copies printed on Okawara paper, with illustrations by Wilfred Jones, typography by Will Ransom, and Chinese characters by Sang Ho. This copy numbered 767 and signed by Jones at colophon. 35 pages. Light edgewear and mild scuffing to boards; spine lightly sunned with touches of soil. Slipcase scuffed.
