Pictorial boards. Condition: Very Good. R.J. Campbell (illustrator). A presentable, well-preserved copy of the 1902 1st (and almost certainly only) edition. In its original cloth-backed, pictorial boards, with 2 mild margin mends, light edge wear and light scuffing to the front panel; overall, clean, tight and VG. Quarto, illustrated in rich color on every page by R.J. Campbell, the book design and style reminiscent of W.W. Denslow's. Uncommon picture book, printed on heavy paper with thick covers, few copies having survived intact. Written by Laura Dayton Fessenden, the author of "2002: Childlife One Hundred Years from Now", this is the story of a sick little Irish boy named Patsy who is brought to the far side of the Moon, where Mother Goose and little children live. Patsy is brought there by the Moon Princess named Dearest Darling, who takes him to meet all of the characters from Mother Goose, here portrayed as real children.
