The book also introduces Laura's youngest sister Grace Pearl. "One always hesitates as to whether these stories of Laura Wilder's childhood belong with fiction or non-fiction. A splendidly written contribution to factual frontier material, of special interest to the Middle Western market." Virginia Kirkus for Kirkus Reviews. Hard Cover. Condition: Collectible-Very Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Helen Sewell And Mildred Boyle (illustrator). Reprint. (14), 239, (3) pages. May 1950 printing of the third book in the "Little House" series, with the date code E-Z on the copyright page--including the rare dust jacket with $2.00 price on the front flap The book is clean and tight in a dust jacket jacket that is in much nicer condition than normally found: with a little chipping at the corners and head and foot of spine. The white background on the jacket is lightly toned, as usual. Strangely, there is no title on the spine of the jacket, but names of author and illustrators are clear, and there is no evidence of sunning. Nicer than it sounds, and an acceptable copy for the collector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
