"It's Christmas Eve a few years hence and three people are thrown together, trapped in London's Underground system. The boy, Spud, down the Tube for warmth, is a loner, used to sleeping rough. Some thought he was from the Dark People, perhaps a changeling. The undercover detective and the Transport official both want to be out of it. People don't pay their fares any more, theft is everywhere. Now they have to deal with accidents, even murder. On this night the earthly forces are at their strongest and all three are hurled into a network of evil growing within the belly of London's Underground. By the break of day they will have tasted living nightmare while an ancient prophecy struggles to be fulfilled." IN STOCK FOR IMMEDIATE DESPATCH.

First Edition
Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. Illustrated by (cover design) JWA Designs (illustrator). First Edition. [a really nice copy, with the only flaw being a faint vertical scratch line on the front cover; otherwise clean and tight, virtually as-new]. Trade PB (B&W photographs, facsimiles) Published at a time when the "spaghetti Western" subgenre was already well into its decline, this was (I believe) the first book on the topic to be published (at least in English). Although heavily photo-illustrated, with a relatively minimal text, it has the advantage of being nearly contemporaneous with the films themselves, unlike much of the extensive and more academic scholarship that's followed. Particularly notable is the book's second half, which devotes considerable attention to the importance of the music in the films. (I'm moderately confused about the publisher statement, which appears on the copyright page as indicated (Lorrimer/Futura), but which on the title page of the book and the spine is simply stated as "Odeon.").
