Original pictorial wraps with saddle stapled binding. As originally issued in 1973, Gallups working thesis was that the piece was an unpublished illustrated poem by Lear. Subsequent to his discovery that Lear had adapted verse by Thomas Moore, he took the unusual step of destroying 300 of the 500 copies printed. 100 of these copies were later issued with revisions and notes correcting the matter. This is the 1st issue, signed by Gallup and dated 1973 and # 492/500. Virtually Fine ; Signed by Author.
