The book is bound in beige cloth with illustration of the family home stamped in brown on the front cover. There is an imprint of a paperclip on top edge of the front cover. The corners are sharp and the binding is firm. The front endpapers have areas of tan off-setting from part of the dust jacket loosely laid in. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. Part of the front flap of the dust jacket has been pasted on the front paste-down. It features a drawing by Matisse of the author as a young woman. According to the dust jacket this book was written when the author was eighty and describes her childhood in an Orthodox Jewish home in San Francisco in the last part of the Nineteenth Century. The author was a friend of Alice B Toklas and was briefly part of the bohemian life in Paris 1907-1910. Includes chapter drawings in black and white by Mallette Dean. 273pages. Signed by Author(s).
