The purportedly true adventures of a Cossack officer during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the subsequent struggles between the Bolsheviks and the White forces in the Crimea. The identity of the officer is withheld, but he is presented as being rich, noble and so zealous in his opposition to the Bolsheviks that he was called "the White Devil." His daring exploits include a plot to assassinate Lenin and Trotsky, multiple arrests, killings and daring escapes, and execution by a grossly incompetent firing squad.
