Paris: Jules Renouard, Libraire, 1829. [iv], 211 pp. Contemporary three-quarter tree calf over marbled boards, paper title label to spine, speckled edges. Light rubbing with negligible wear to spine ends and corners, rear hinge cracked. Check marks to margins and a bound-in leaf of notes in Guide in a contemporary hand that is not identical to the hand of Collection. Moderate toning to interiors, light foxing in a few places. $200. * Guide and Manuel: first editions. The two books are digests of treaties and commercial laws regarding trade between Spain and France from the early seventeenth century to the Bourbon restoration. Both works had second editions, Guide in 1837, Manuel in 1830. The manuscript is a chronological list of the treaties between Franch and Spain from 1603 to 1813. Both works are rare. 1 copy located in the United States at Harvard Law School. In North America, OCLC locates no copies of the first edition of Guide and 1 copy of the second, at the Library of Congress, and 2 copies of Manuel, a first edition at Harvard Law School and a second at Yale.
