Three-Quarter Leather. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Handsome fine binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe. Four volume complete set. First edition in English, this was published earlier in the same year in Paris. Three-quarter blue morocco with marbled boards and endpapers. Gilt ruled covers. Five raised spine bands, red leather lettered panels, gilt decorated compartments. Gilt top-edge, fore and bottom edges uncut. Illustrated with engravings. Tightly bound. Internally quite clean and nice with small previous owner bookplates on the ffep's. Some rubbing to corners and edges but overall a very attractive set in very good condition.
