    Sturdily bound in finely woven grey cloth stamped in red lettering on the front boards which features the design of a weathervane and on the spine. Light wear and rubbing to the extremities. With a name in pencil on the front endpaper; otherwise, very clean and tight throughout, printed on heavy stock and very readable. In its original dust jacket printed in black and orange featuring a window-like compass on the front panel with colorful seasonal vignettes. With the original price of $2.00 at the top of the inside front flap; and a full write-up of Paul Revere Square on the rear inside flap. Rubbing and wear to the top and bottom of the spine ends and to the corners. Light creasing to the spine folds and flap folds. The rear panel, lightly soiled, features a photo of Louise Andrews Kent and a 4 paragraph write-up about her. Signed in blue ink, "Louise Andrews Kent" on the half-title page. She wrote a newspaper column,Theresa s Tea Table,[2]in theBoston Travellerunder the pen name ofTheresa Tempestand later authored a series of cookbooks asMrs. Appleyard.[1]Kent, also asMrs. Appleyard, wrote a quarterly feature on food forVermont Lifemagazine for many years.[3]TheVermont Historical Society, of which Kent was a trustee during the 1950s,[4]maintains a collection of research notes,manuscript and typescript draftsandgalley proofsof her work.
