Fine condition book in Fine condition dust wrapper, not price clipped. Lengthy ink message by the author over two pages concerning Pilot Officer O. W. H. Berkeley-Hill: missing believed killed; Spitfire BR 324, 249 Squadron, aircraft failed to return from an operational interception flight from Ta Kali, Malta, 12 July 1942 (reported to be Messerschmitts) the 22 year-old was shot down into the sea off Malta. 'For Rosaland - I hope so much that, between pages 40 and 41, you and your family will recognise the ethos in which Owen, and his Squadron, 249, lived in the rough Malta days of 1942. I trust also that you will believe that, in making the supreme sacrifice, he contributed to our victory in a manner in which those of us who fought with him will never forget.
