A original unsent christmas card by the arist Lucien Veder. " Lucien Veder used the above pseudonym, Legarf, so as not to be confused with his famous father, Eugene Veder. He learned the art of etching from his father after the First World War receiving the bronze medal in the 1923 and the silver medal in 1925 for etchings of Paris at the Salon des artistes Francais. The Louvre is still showing his etchings. Veder born in 1902. He used the pseudonym 'Legarf ' , so he was not confused with his famous father Eugene Veder, who trained him in the art of etching after the First World War. He received the bronze medal in 1923 & the Silver in 1925 at the 'Salon des artistes francais' for his etchings of Paris. The Louvre still show his work. " The card is as shown with light dust soiling and a light craeses to one top corner. The name Eunice is on the lower corner of the rear panel. See photos 5 by 7 Inches. Item Description: Paris: ?, 1925. Etching, image size 275x220mm on paper 370x282mm, a fine coloured etching of a typically French, sleepy afternoon, street scene. Signed in pencil inside the platemark. Lucien Veder (1902-78) learned the art of etching from his father after the First World War. He used the pseudonym and signed all of his works 'Le Garf' to distinguish himself from father Eugene Veder. He was a recognized artist and was the recipient of the bronze medal in the 1923 and the silver medal in 1925 for etchings of Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français. More of his etchings can be seen in the Louvre in Paris.
