Chipping with shallow loss along extremities, spine paper partly perished, front hinge rather weak but holding; overall Good to Very Good, internally clean and sound. A tale of a dog separated from his master, first published in 1798. This edition one of the earliest works printed by Lydia Bailey (1779-1869), who first began managing her late husband's printshop in the same year 1808. Front paste-down never attached to front board, so now acts as ffep & reveals binding technique underneath. A solid VG copy. Period drab paper boards, with front board professionally reattached.
