Volume is A-L, Volume II is M-Z. Books are tight, square, and unmarked but for a F/O name on the front pastedown and FFFP of both volumes; volume one has an acquisition date of the F/O of 1922. F/O was Henry Tall Chief, the first full-blood Osage Indian to be taken into Masonic Order. Condition: Good+ ; bumped head, tail, and tips; shelfwear to board edges; small worn places on heads and tips; light rubbing to tilt edges. No DJ. Brown cloth boards and spines with gilt lettering on the spines with Masonic emblem; gilt Masonic History Company emblems on the front covers and embossed decorative borders on all boards.Profusely Illustrated with black-and-white line drawings and full-color artwork. Marbled endpapers. Gilt textblock edges. Volume I Frontispiece is a full-page, full-color portrait of Albert G. Mackey with an adjacent biographical sketch; Volume II is full-page B&W of William Hughan. Innerl hinges of Volume I are sound and not cracked but the rear inner hinge on Volume two has split paper at the hinge but is still held in place by the mull cloth. 913 pp 4to. The revision of this most comprehensive Encyclopedia has been a most anxious and laborious task. I have endeavored to preserve as much as possible of Dr. Mackey's work untouched, but at the same time to correct statements which later investigations have shown to be unfounded; thus I have left all of Dr. Mackey's opinions and theories unaltered. All completely new articles, or old ones with many alterations, I have marked with my initials and I must take all responsibility for them--from the Reviser's Preface. Due to size and weight, no overseas shipments. Priority mailing will require additional postage. A clean very presentable set of books.
