Pictorial Cover. Condition: Fair. Madye Lee Chastain (illustrator). Nellie is a black horse. Unpaginated; 3/8 in. thick. Color illustrations. The spine strip is missing 5/8 in. from the top and 1 5/8 in. from the bottom and has two chips. Three, front board corners are rubbed through to the board. Several pages have light, fingerprint soiling. A few pages have a mottled, darkened area that may be from something that was laid-in. Light water stain is along the front edges of the free endpapers and seven pages. The front pastedown has a 1/2 in. chip by a spine staple. On the back pastedown, paper is glued back down that was loose by the spine's staples.

Glossy illustrated paper over boards have a 1/2" nick to the paper near the bottom of the spine and a few other nicks and tears and light peeling at the top and bottom of spine and at the corner tips. Light overall scuffing to covers as well. Binding tight. Pages are browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-library. NO remainder marks. Wonderful bright color illustrations by Chastain. Let's Play Indian opens with: "All Little boys and girls want to be something special when they grow up. Tommy wants to be a fireman and wear a red hat. Betty wants to be a nurse and put bandages on. Eddie wants to be a policeman and blow a whistle. But when Suzie grows up she wants to be an Indian. And the more she is told to sit quietly --and to keep her pinafore clean --And not step in puddles-- The more she wants to be an Indian! Not a quite well behaved Indian either .".
