Contents mostly good, clean & tight , starts at what looks like page 7, which is in fact the Title page.(so not sure what if any pages are missing) in front of title page are 2 blank (4 sides) end pages. To page 11 are loose/detached. No inscriptions. Remains of old brown tape to inside covers ( as the binding/book was protected in Brown paper), various illustrated pages full with pages of between about 5 -7 portraits of authors protected by tissue paper. , Heavy book, so surcharge for outside the UK. 13 x 22.5cm Approx.

Hardcover. 1st Edition. REBOUND. A hardcover book in good condition. Rebound with new endpapers, preserving the majority of the original red cloth covers and spine. Small circular stamps on a front endpaper. Stains and indentations penetrating a span of about 40 pages in the middle of the text block. Other pages are more lightly flecked with stains. All pages are age-tanned and somewhat brittle. The binding is quite secure. A very scarce Twain collectible! A collection of comedic and odd stories from a humor magazine called VANITY FAIR (not the same as the pop culture magazine still published today), whose contributors were known as "Phunny Phellows."
