Softcover. White wraps. 89 pp. 72 color, 101 bw plates. Sub-titles : An essay illustrated by pertinent works in various media intending to show the content of Sheeler's still life compositions is transposed easily by the artist into forms of his so-called industrial subjects, and that the difference between the two modes, today regarded as fundamental, is a schism bred of Sheeler's patronage as it is perceived by his audience, and not one of his own, purposeful, creative intent. THIS is followed by a 16 page essay. This catalogue also includes diverse works by Hicks, Rindisbacher, Kensett, Bridgeman, etc. Terrific color plates, scholarship. 15 of the plates are of Sheeler's work, however. VG- (Small label on cover bottom; may have few marks from previous gallery owner.).
