The book is leather bound (8 3/4" by 11 1/4") with gold-gilded edges, satin-like end pages and 368 glossy pages with 212 illustrations (41 in full color), and Index, a Table of Contents, a section of Notes on the Text and it has been signed by "an artist associated with the Metropolitan Opera" . . . though I can't read the writing well enough to tell you which one. (I have since found out who it is . . . Luciano Pavaroti) It's a beautifully done book in very good + condition and would certainly make a great gift for anyone interested in The Met and its operas over the years . . . even if it's you. This is the Centennial publication and takes us from the years 1883 to 1983. Thank you!. a Met artist/performer.
