This work includes a "Prospectus" dated January, 1872 as well as a "Notice" relating to the "Prospectus"dated April, 1872 followed by an 8 page monograph on Rostrhamus Sociabilis, Blue Kite, Everglade Kite accompanied by two full page plates of same; one with hand coloring and one without. The work continues with renewed pagination of Part I. [1872], Part II. [1873] and Part III. [1874] pp. 1-88. No further parts of this work were published. Two hand-colored plates as well as a double in black/white. Title page and Prospectus page backed with no loss to text. Previous owner's name to front endpaper and previous owner's partially erased inscription in pencil to title page. Moderate tape residue throughout. Tears to sides of initial pages not affecting text with minor pencil notations.
