No Binding. Condition: Very Good. This is a very nice piece of music ephemera : A flyer announcing the joint performance at Grace Church, Utica on April 22, 1946 by organist Alexander McCurdy and his wife, harpist Flora Greenwood. Alexander McCurdy (1905 - 1983) was one of the leading organists in the United States, and very influential for many future classical organists. Among other positions, he was organist at the Second Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia; head of the Organ Department at the Curtis Institute; and head of the Organ Department at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. He frequently appeared with his wife, harpist Flora Greenwood (1908 - 1998), who was the lead harpist of the Philadelphia Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski, and a star in her own right. Their performance at Grace Church, Utica on April 22, 1946, included Ravel's "Introduction and Allegro", and works by Debussy. The performance was sponsored by the Central New York Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and the Munson - Williams - Proctor Institute of Utica. ****************************************** Promotional flyer, consisting of a single sheet of paper, printed in sepia and red, with sepia photographs of each performer, with their instruments (on opposite sides of the flyer). The sheet measures approximately 7" x 10 1/4", and was folded horizontally (most likely for mailing). The performance venue, date and sponsoring aegis are printed in red. ***************************************** CONDITION : - VERY GOOD - There is some toning (or weathering) on the side featuring Flora Greenwood. There are a couple of small nicks to the edge, else the flyer is clean and nicely preserved.
