Book First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Some light fading along the edges, else a very good copy. An especially interesting article by Alan W. Farley, "An Indian Captivity and Its Legal AFtermath." (pp 257-263) What makes this is interesting is that the court case referred to was entitle "Fanny Kelly vs. Sarah L. Larimer." Kelly and her adopted daughter and Larimer and her son were captured The law suit was because Mrs.Kelly and Mrs. Larimer had agreed to together publish their experiences as captives. Larimer ended up with the manuscript and published in her name. Kelly won the law suit. No money was ever paid and eventually the case was dismissed at plaintiff's cost; but the files disclosed that they were never paid. Very interesting.
