A fast paced, Ouidaesque novel concerning a newspaper reporter - Christian Vellacott - who is caught up in the swirl of underground European politics in Paris. The novel was serialised in The Cornhill Magazine and thus Scott's literary career really took off. 250 grams.

The book contains many episodes where Scott tells of Spanish customs, manners & scenery. 250 grams.
