Product Description:The massive tank battle at Brody-Dubno in June 1941 included the two divisions of the German 49th Mountain Corps and the Adolf Hitler Life Guard Motorized Regiment of the Waffen SS party militia. We didnâ t include their battles in Fire in the Steppe, our game based on the clashes at Brody and Dubno, since Fire in the Steppe doesnâ t include pieces for German mountain troops or SS scum.49th Mountain Corps is a Campaign Study, a short book adding 10 scenarios based on these battles to Fire in the Steppe. This is a thing that really happened! To play those 10 scenarios (which come with two battle games, too), youâ ll also need Fire in the Steppe, Parachutes Over Crete and Slovakiaâ s War.

Product Description:In February 1942, the German Navy prepared a top-secret mission, known as Operation Cerberus, to move the battle cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau (known to British sailors as the â Wicked Sistersâ ) and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen from Brest in western France to Norway. Without special training operations or any other moves that might alert the British, they would suddenly dart up the narrow English Channel. The daring â Channel Dashâ caught the British by surprise, and all three ships made it to German though Gneisenau suffered damage that would never be fully repaired. As a cover story for the preparations, the German Navy put about the rumor that the three ships would head south, around the Cape of Good Hope and across the Indian Ocean to join the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies. Crews were told of this objective, tropical helmets and uniforms were loaded, and rumors spread through the French dock workers.Wicked Sisters is a Second World War at Sea Campaign Study making this deception a reality. Itâ s a set of thirteen scenarios tracing this cruise that never happened. The German squadron is pretty much on its own until they reach safe harbor. The Royal Navy has no intention of letting them get there, and the U.S. Navy has no intention of allowing them to survive.Youâ ll need Bismarck Second Edition or Playbook Edition, South Pacific, Horn of Africa, Eastern Fleet and Java Sea to play the scenarios.

Product Description:In the years immediately following the defeat of Nazi Germany, some leaders among the victorious Allies believed that war between the two remaining superpowers was not only inevitable, it would come very soon. The United States and the Soviet Union continued to design and build new armored vehicles and other weapons for this looming war, but the â Cold Warâ would drag on for almost 45 years without ever resulting in open battle. Iron Curtain is a supplement introducing the post-war weapons of the two superpowers to the Panzer Grenadier system. The scenarios are all hypothetical, of course, but are based on what generals of either side believed would be the course of a war in the years immediately after 1945. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Road to Berlin and Battle of the Bulge. For those fascinated by huge tanks with big guns, this is the ultimate in tactical armored wargaming. New pieces include the Soviet Josef Stalin III and Josef Stalin IV heavy tanks, T-44 medium tank and Su101 assault gun. There are also infantry armed with the awesome AK-47 assault rifle, still a front-line weapon around the world 60 years after its development. An American player will need powerful weapons to counter that arsenal, and Iron Curtain provides. There are M26 â Pershingâ heavy tanks, Sherman â Jumboâ assault tanks, M24 Chaffee light tanks, M4 Sherman tanks with a 76mm gun, M28 ultra-heavy assault tanks, and M29, M30 and M32 heavy tanks. Plus M36 tank destroyers, M39 full-tracked armored personnel carriers, and 90mm anti-tank guns. Each scenario has its own card in a spiral-bound booklet, just like the popular South Africaâ s War and Blue Division.

The Bavarian chief of staff, Ludwig Freiherr von der Tann, met with the Austrian leadership and suggested that the Bavarian army march into Bohemia. There they would form the left wing of the Austrian North Army, and along with the Saxons would hold off the Prussian First Army at Jicin while the Austrians dealt with the Prussian Second Army.Von der Tannâ s bold plan might well have given the Allies victory, but the Austrian commander, Ludwig von Benedek, turned him down and Bavaria pursued a separate strategy. By the time Benedek changed his mind and called for the Bavarians to advance, it was already too late.Battles of 1866: Blood & Iron is an expansion book for Battles of 1866: Frontier Battles. It adds the Royal Bavarian Army to the game, based on the Von der Tann plan. There are six scenarios included plus background on the Jicin campaign and the Bavarian proposal to participate. While this battle never took place, the scenarios are based on actual operational plans. This module is not playable separately; it requires ownership of Battles of 1866: Frontier Battles.Contents:-One Book -64 playing pieces (24 huge, 40 merely large).

The battle cruisers of Britainâ s Grand Fleet and Germanyâ s High Seas Fleet met in the February 1915 Battle of Dogger Bank, and both fleets continually sortied into the waters dividing them.Jutland: Dogger Bank continues the story we began with Jutland: Battle Analysis 1914. Itâ s a book of history, scenarios and game/historical analysis, all woven together to use our Great War at Sea: Jutland game as the basis to tell the campaignâ s story in a unique manner.Dogger Bank picks up the story with the Cuxhaven Raid of December 1914, and continues it up to the eve of the great Battle of Jutland in late May 1916. There are 35 new scenarios, plus historical articles and analyses all relating the game play to the actual events. We look at how the game simulates the operations, and then we flesh them out with still more scenarios: fast-playing battle scenarios using just the Tactical Map, and additional operational scenarios using the operational map as well to pick up the action at key decision points and discuss why the admirals involved made the decisions that determined the battleâ s outcome.Jutland is already a very fine game (our most popular ever, even more than Third Reich) and a good instrument through which to re-play history. Dogger Bank and the Battle Analysis make it even more so, while adding more quick fun by fleshing out the battle scenario aspect of the game.Dogger Bank is a 64-page, large-format book supplement for Jutland; youâ ll need a copy of the game to play these scenarios.

Jutland: North Sea 1914 extends the story into the battles that happened, or could have happened, before the Battle of Jutland: Helgoland Bight, the Scarborough Raid, the Yarmouth Raid and more.Jutland: North Sea 1914 adds 43 more scenarios to Jutland Second Edition, all of them set in 1914, the first year of the Great War. During these early months, leaders on both sides thought they could reach a decision at sea, and that they needed to hurry, since the war would be over by Christmas time.We use the same approach as Jutland Second Edition: a deep dive into the history of the campaign, using the game scenarios to help tell the story. Itâ s taking the old advice to â Show, Donâ t Tellâ to a whole new level. You donâ t have to be content with just reading about the campaign, at the key moments, you can play out the situation and see why the admirals made their choices, and how you might have done better (or not).Youâ ll need Jutland: Second Edition to play most of the scenarios, and Cruiser Warfare Second Edition to play all of them.

A German, goes the Viennese response, says that a situation is serious, but not hopeless. An Austrian calls the same situation hopeless, but not serious. And so it was for Austria's First Republic in early 1938. The Austrian Federal Army mustered eight and a half divisions, each of them much smaller than their German counterparts, and was outnumbered 4:1 by German troops slated for the invasion with even greater discrepancies in tanks, planes and artillery. Army chief of staff Alfred Jansa had drawn up detailed plans for armed resistance, and army commander Gen. Wilhelm Zehner had carefully removed Nazi sympathizers from the officer corps. But Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg decided the situation was indeed as hopeless as it was serious. Austria bowed to the inevitable and the Germans rolled in unopposed. Hopeless, But Not Serious is a supplement for the Panzer Grenadier system based on the actual actions of the Austrian Army against Socialist and Nazi militias in 1934, and potential battles foreseen by the Jansa Plan in 1938. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of our Eastern Front, Road to Berlin, Battle of the Bulge, Elsenborn Ridge and Cassino '44 games and our Edelweiss and Sinister Forces supplements to enjoy all of the scenarios. There are 16 scenarios, two each from the Austrian Civil War and Nazi Uprising of 1934, one based on the only actual combat between German and Austrian units in 1938, and the other 10 drawn from potential battles considered by the Austrian General Staff that did not actually occur.

Product Description:In the 17th century, Dutch leaders put their faith in their powerful navy and skilled admirals, winning repeated victories as their spread their commercial empire around the world. But by the 1930s, the Netherlands trusted the League of Nations to defend world peace, and did not begin to rebuild their fleet until it was much too late. Spice Islands presented the fleet the Dutch admirals hoped to build, adding it to the Second World War at Sea series with scenarios taking place in the East Indies. Orange Waters is a supplement for the Second World War at Sea series, with 15 scenarios looking at how this fleet might have been used in the waters of the North Atlantic. This module is not playable by itself, but requires use of the Bismarck boxed game and Spice Islands supplement. No other games or supplements are needed to enjoy all 15 scenarios.

But that didn't keep staff officers from the South American navies and the Royal Navy from wondering what would happen if the Axis fleets did penetrate into the region. U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. George C. Marshall considered a Japanese attempt to damage or destroy the Panama Canal to be the likely opening move of a war in the Pacific, making the sea lanes around Tierra del Fuego vital to the Allied war effort. Strait of Magellan is a supplement for the Second World War at Sea series. There are ten scenarios, or separate game situations, based on battles that might have taken place in these waters, but ultimately did not. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Cone of Fire, Midway, Bismarck and Leyte Gulf games and East of Suez supplement.

Product Description:The Kaiser's Navy is a book supplement for the Second World War at Sea game series, exploring the alternate history possibilities had Imperial Germany survived the First World War and continued its naval expansion plans. There are 110 die-cut and mounted playing pieces: 70 double-sized "long" ship pieces and 40 standard-sized ones representing task forces, aircraft and smaller warships. There are also 20 new scenarios, or separate game situations, based on battles that might have been waged by the Imperial German Navy in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas. The pieces represent the ships of the High Seas Sea Fleet: modernized older dreadnoughts, modernized versions of the ships not completed, and some of those planned or discussed but never built. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Bomb Alley, Arctic Convoy and Bismarck to enjoy all of the scenarios.
