Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Printing, First Edition. This book was previously owned by the former President of NBC Sports, Kenneth D. Schanzer. I bought the book directly from his home a good number of years ago. Schanzer was instrumental in handling the division's partnerships with the PGA Tour, also with Notre Dame and with the NFL and NHL, arranging a ten year contract with the latter. He also 'reassembled the Triple Crown course-racing event.' Miller, of course, was the lead golf analyst for NBC Sports for many, many years. Before that, he won twenty-four PGA titles and was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame. The signed inscription is on the first front end paper in a gold color (see photo). It reads 'To Ken: 'Shans Man' You're The Greatest! Thanks For Everything! Johnny Miller '04.' I don't know the reference to 'Shans Man'. There's also a separate letter on the stationary of Johnny Miller Enterprises that was in the book. It's signed by a Fran LaVoie and reads 'Dear Ken, As promised, here's your own autographed book from John. Enjoy! Thank you once again with the Today Show. I'm thinking we'll hear from them in early May. I'll let you know. Many thanks, Fran LaVoie.' I'm also including a sheet of Kenneth Schanzer's stationary that I picked up at the same time as the book. The book is in excellent condition. You can see the covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. I'm not seeing any soiling. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. There's just a little bit of the typical crinkling at the spine ends. The cover edges and corners are in excellent shape, no rubbing, one nick on the rear top edge. The page edges are perfectly clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers are beige. They are perfectly clean and free of any wear. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm not seeing any corner creasing, no placeholder creases. The only page imperfection is pretty minor, a nick to the bottom page edge created a corresponding nick at the bottom edge of around 20 pages, no tears. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And the signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. The dust jacket is in excellent shape. It's perfectly clean. There are no tears. There's a tiny scuff at the rear bottom corner, a tiny crease off the front bottom edge. The flaps are in very good condition, very clean, no tears. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Inscribed by Author(s).
