He commanded the Eighth Army from August 1942 in the Western Desert until the final Allied victory in Tunisia. The book includes chapters on military thinking and the ethics of war. It is a reflective and insightful read for military professionals. However, it is not something to use as an authoritative reference for historical military details. Rather, it is more like sitting at the feet of a master as Montgomery uses history to demonstrate the lessons of war that he found the hard way. ## ### INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please Note.
