Cream bookcloth boards with black vignette on front and titles in black on spine, 115pp, 15 b&w full page plates including frontispiece and numerous b&w illustrations within the text, advert for novel by same author at the rear. Corners bumped, cover is soiled, hinge split but pages are secure with the exception of the page listing of plates which is loose but attached at the top, some light foxing throughout but text and illustrations are bright, small underlining in blue pen on dedication page. Overall, a good copy of this scarce book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Collated complete.This novel was written by author P. H. Mules and tells the story of the people who live in Westcombe Manor and it's village through the eyes of the keeper at the Manor, George Doggett. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with marks to the boards, bumping to the extremities of the boards and fading. Minor marks to the endpapers only. Internally firmly bound with front hinge starting after the frontispiece and occasional light scattered spotting, heaviest to the front and rear. Past owner's name written in ink to the front blank. Very Good. book.

The contents clean a nd tight. Publishers cream cloth with vignette in black of the keeper's door to upper board. The cloth soiled and some marks but tight with no splits or chips. The story of a keeper hears of a boy he taught to shoot and fish has earned the Victoria Cross (shooting three of the enemy). Chute 462.
